At Back to Basics, we raise Lohman and Highline Brown hens. These breeds specialize in laying large brown eggs and do very well in free-range conditions. They are a smaller framed bird and are heavy layers. Our hens are pasture raised, free range and supplemented with layer feed. In the summer months they range on a special poultry blend grass that is high in omegas and during the winter time they are given organic barley fodder to ensure the quality of our eggs year round. Each of our eggs are collected, washed, sorted, and packaged by hand every day to guarantee ultimate freshness and quality.
